About This Camp
Marina Explorers Camp (formerly called Afternoon Adventures) is a half-day, mixed-activity camp for ages 8–11, offering a different adventure each day at the Berkeley Marina. Campers rotate through a weekly mix of kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, shoreline exploration, and hands-on outdoor learning activities that introduce them to the natural environment and basic adventure-sport skills.
On two water days each week, campers gear up, get a simple paddle orientation, and head onto the water with trained instructors. On land days, they explore the Marina through activities that may include nature observation & crafts, team games, and beginner outdoor skills. The weekly schedule varies, so each session feels fresh—even for returning campers.
Marina Explorers Camp is a beginner-friendly outdoor camp ideal for curious, active campers who enjoy small groups, outdoor time, and trying new activities on both land and water. Swimming skills are not required, but campers should be comfortable around water and weather. All activities take place outdoors.
Ages & Eligibility
Campers must be ages 8-11 by the first day of the camp session in order to register.

Afternoon Extended Care Options
Extend your child(ren)’s camp day, and rest easy knowing that you have some extra time to get through traffic, finish a few errands, or pick up dinner before you pick up your child(ren).
