Access requirements vary by pool location. Please review the information below before your visit.

 

To access Spieker Pool, you must be:

  • A current UC Berkeley student
  • An active RecWell member (student, faculty/staff, alumni, retiree, emeriti, or Inclusive Rec)

Please note, day passes are not available for Spieker Pool. UVA Access Pass and Golden Bear Pool Pass holders are not permitted to use Spieker Pool.

Strawberry Canyon and Golden Bear Pool access is available to:

  • Current UC Berkeley students
  • Active RecWell members (student, faculty/staff, alumni, retiree, emeriti, or Inclusive Rec) 
  • Individuals who have purchased a one-time use Day Pass (valid on the date of purchase only, non-transferable between locations)

Access will be validated at the entrance to the pool areas. Please be prepared to show your student ID, faculty/staff Cal1Card, RecWell membership card, or proof of Day Pass purchase. The inability to provide one of these documents will prohibit pool access. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact RecWell@berkeley.edu.

Pool Day Passes 

Day passes for Golden Bear and Strawberry Canyon Pools are available for online purchase only. Strawberry Canyon Pool offers lap swim and recreational pool use, while Golden Bear Pool is available for lap swim only. Day passes are non-refundable, non-transferable, and are not valid at any other pool or facility.

The purchaser will need to present an ID and email receipt to gain entry. All parties must be present at the time of entry. Minor participants must be accompanied by an adult (18+) who must also possess a valid day pass. Additional age requirements vary by location. Please visit the pool pages or review the day pass decription in the online store prior to purchase.

Group Swim Rates

Group swim rates are available at Golden Bear and Strawberry Canyon Pools in coordination with our Scheduling Team. Advanced coordination is required. Groups will need to complete the Rental Request Form and follow up by emailing recschedule@berkeley.edu after submission.

Group swim rates provide shared access to the pool; exclusive pool use is not currently offered. Activities must align with permitted facility use.

Please note, group swim rates are not available at Spieker Pool, which is reserved for member use only.
