Strength Training 50+ (6 weeks)

Increase your strength and fitness level by learning how to use free weights and weight-lifting machines correctly in a safe and welcoming environment. Strength training prevents osteoporosis and other conditions that limit mobility so you can spend time being active with your loved ones.

Exercise is Medicine: Introduction to Weightlifting (6 weeks)

Weightlifting—sometimes called Olympic-style weightlifting—is a dynamic power sport and training program that comprises two lifts—the snatch and the clean & jerk—along with their accessory strength-based movements, especially the squat and deadlift variations. While weightlifters can generate some of the highest power outputs of all athletes, weightlifting is also extremely customizable to all different body types and physical abilities, is a very safe style of training, and is highly transferable to other sports and activities of everyday life. Join the Exercise is Medicine: Introduction to Weightlifting class to learn the basics of weightlifting as a training program. Get ready to lift and to learn!
