About The Program

This volunteer CIT program serves as the entry rung of the ladder leading to becoming a paid camp staff member. The goal of the program is to develop leadership skills that can be applied to all aspects of life and utilized in any future career. The CIT is considered a volunteer staff member, attends pre-camp training and is assigned a schedule and volunteer duties with the camp he or she is placed. Most applicants will work with Explorer or Blue Camps, but there are also limited positions with the Skateboard Camp and Science & Sports Camp. CITs must have completed 9th grade to qualify.

Compensation: Volunteer

Location: Golden Bear Rec Center (Blue Camp) and Strawberry Canyon Rec Area (Explorer and Science & Sports Camp). There are also limited position with the Skateboard Camp at GBRC and Cal Adventures Camps at the Berkeley Marina.
