Game Manager
Position
This position is responsible for monitoring Intramural Sports (IM Sports) games. Managing is not the same as refereeing. You will not enforce IM rules to the caliber that a referee would, but you are responsible for maintaining a safe and enjoyable sports environment according to outlined IM Sports rules, policies and procedures. These rules and procedures to follow are not the same as typical sports rules. Attend all required training clinics and All-Staff meetings for Intramural Sports.
The Game Manager assists in preparing Intramural Sports sites for scheduled activities. This includes responsibility for the cleanliness of equipment; check-in/out appropriate game-related equipment; ensure participants observe Program rules and regulations regarding risk management, safety, sportsmanship, and policies and procedures; and discuss rules and clarify interpretations with participants prior to Intramural Sports contests.
Display conflict resolution and communication skills in interactions with participants and staff members.
Qualifications
No experience is necessary – we will teach you everything you need to know to be a competent game manager. Interested students will attend training clinics at the beginning of each semester. Must be a registered University of California, Berkeley student for the Fall 2024 semester. Must have a 2.00 GPA to apply for the position. Must be willing to work 5-15 hours per week throughout the term of the position. Must be willing to work evenings and some weekend hours.
Certifications
Game managers must be CPR/AED/First Aid certified by November 1, 2024. All continuing and returning staff members must keep CPR/AED/First Aid certifications and blood-borne pathogen training current to continue being scheduled. American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid certification cannot be completed online.

Site Supervisors
Position
Great news: No Intramural Sports Experience Necessary!
Site Supervisors are the on-site supervisors for all of our Intramural Sports events. They will assist the Intramural Sports program in supervising and supporting Game Managers and participants. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Oversight of outdoor/indoor sports, supervision of Game Managers, administration of first aid, player check-in, problem-solving to make important on-site decisions, documentation of incidents/accidents, and ensuring that we are delivering the best possible experience for our participants. Site Supervisors will be an integral part of the execution of the Intramural Sports programs. The Site Supervisor position is a leadership role and will serve as a role model for Game Managers and participants. As the most visual representative of the IM Sports Office, we expect Site Supervisors to be problem solvers with a professional attitude and great customer service.
Qualifications
Must be a registered University of California, Berkeley student for the Fall 2024 semester. Must have a 2.00 GPA to apply for the position. Must be willing to work 5-15 hours per week throughout the term of the position. Must be willing to work evenings and some weekend hours. Assist with all Recreation & Wellbeing/Intramural Sports tasks as assigned. Must attend monthly Site Supervisor meetings and semester All-Staff Meetings. CPR/AED/First Aid certification or ability to obtain before first shift. American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid certification cannot be completed online.
Certifications
New Site Supervisors hired must become CPR/AED/First Aid certified through the American Red Cross and trained in blood-borne pathogens before they can work a shift. All continuing and returning staff members must keep CPR/AED/First Aid certifications and blood-borne pathogen training current to continue being scheduled. American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid certification cannot be completed online.

Sport Supervisors (Most Sports)
Position
The Sport Supervisor will assist the Student Lead, Coordinator, and the Director in coordination of the Intramural Sports Program. The primary responsibility of the Sport Supervisor will be to provide special attention to their respective sport while also contributing to the larger success of IM sports as a whole. Duties include (but are not limited to): scheduling of Game Managers, scheduling of playoffs, planning and leading the Hiring and Advanced training Clinics for your sport(s), evaluating Sport Programs, addressing on-the-court misconduct of athletes, implementing necessary changes to programs, distribution of Game Manager uniforms, maintaining weekly communication with the game managing staff, and working a minimum number of office hours.
Qualifications
Must be a registered student at the University of California, Berkeley for the Fall 2024 semester. Must have a 2.00 GPA to apply for the position – subject to academic-status verification. Must be willing to work 7-10 hours per week throughout the term of the position. Must be willing to work some evening and weekend hours. Student Lead
Position
You are the undergraduate leader of the intramural sports office. Depending on the state of public health, this job includes up to the following tasks:
- Sitting in on Program Assistant’s interviews of site supervisor candidates.
- Hosting at least 8 office hours per week on the second floor of the RSF.
- Coordinating a schedule, so the IM office always has one person in the IM office between the hours of 9am and 4 pm on each weekday.
- Running the semester-starting all-staff meeting.
- Tracking referee jerseys, site supervisor jerseys, and miscellaneous sporting equipment.
- Tracking CPR certifications of all employees.
- Voicing undergraduate concerns in IM sports disputes and punishments (suspensions, expulsions, etc.)
- Assisting the Coordinator and the Director in any IM related projects

Payroll Assistant
Position
The Payroll Assistant is responsible for assisting the Coordinator, Director, and Human Resources Department in multiple aspects of hiring and paying Intramural Sports Employees. Responsibilities include assisting in the hiring process of new employees throughout the semester, inputting employee hours into CalTime biweekly, and addressing any payroll related concerns or issues.
Qualifications
Must be a registered student at the University of California, Berkeley for the Fall 2024 semester. Must have a 2.00 GPA to apply for the position – subject to academic-status verification. Program Assistant
Position
The Program Assistant is responsible for assisting the Coordinator, Student Lead, and Director in multiple aspects of coordination and organization of the Site Supervisor program within the Intramural Sports Program. Responsibilities include training site supervisors, scheduling all site supervisors to their weekly shifts, and helping run a monthly site supervisor meeting along with the Coordinator. The Program Assistant is also responsible for evaluating site supervisors and updating them on their performances throughout the semester. It is the Program Assistant’s duty, along with the guidance of the Coordinator, to update site supervisors with changing protocol and overall ensuring that the site supervisors are provided with enough resources to be successful. The Program Assistant is encouraged to actively seek ways to improve the Program.

Social Media Marketing Manager
Position
The Social Media Marketing Manager is responsible for going to different IM games throughout the semester, usually at least two a week, and taking pictures. Then taking those photos, thinking of a caption, and posting it to X/Facebook/Instagram, using IM specific hashtags. Additionally, you will be asked to make posts on stories or posts addressing competitions that IMs are promoting or IM updates such as canceled games.
