Facility Overview

SCRA is the perfect spot for any outdoor adventure. Strawberry Canyon Pool, open only during the summer, has 3 lanes of 25 yards and water temperature maintained at 80-81 degrees F. Three lanes are dedicated to lap swimming – the rest is for recreation. Amenities include locker rooms, hot showers, day lockers (bring your own lock), swimsuit spinners, kickboards, a pool lift for those needing assistance getting into the pool, and wheelchair access to the locker rooms. No towel service is available.

The Strawberry Canyon Ropes Course, made up of seven challenging and exciting elements, allows you to bond with your peers while swinging, climbing, and hanging among the Redwoods, while the Strawberry Canyon Pool is ideal for a summer afternoon.

Strawberry Canyon pool access is available to:

Enrolled UCB undergraduate and graduate students
Individuals with a current RecWell membership
Individuals who have purchased a one-time use Day Pass

Guests under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult (18+) who also must possess a day pass. All members of a group must be present at the time of entry to present the purchase receipt (printed receipt or electronic device) and photo identification of the purchaser.

Day passes for Strawberry Canyon Recreation Area Pool are available for online purchase only. Purchasers must present the receipt, along with an ID, to the Pool Access Monitor to enter the pool area.

Guests under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult (18 or older) who also must possess a day pass. All members of a group must be present at the time of entry.

Location

The Strawberry Canyon Ropes Course and Pool are located at the Strawberry Canyon Recreation Area (SCRA) on Centennial Drive, just above Memorial Stadium. To access the locker room and pools, enter from the parking lot and proceed down the main walkway. The pool and locker rooms are located on the ground level.

Parking is located in the SCRA parking lot. There is no street parking. There will be a reduction of parking from ongoing construction at Strawberry Canyon. We understand this may be an inconvenience. We encourage you to park at nearby campus lots, and carpool.

How do I purchase a day pass for Strawberry Canyon Recreation Area & Pool?
Day passes for Strawberry Canyon Recreation Area Pool are available for online purchase only.
1. Visit our online storefront.
2. Create an account profile and proceed to shop for the SCRA Pool Day Pass.
3. Purchasers will receive an order confirmation and an email receipt. Purchasers must present the receipt, along with an ID, to the Pool Access Monitor to enter the pool area.
4. You have the option to save your credit card information to the profile to make the checkout process faster for future visits.
Do I need a day pass to come into the Strawberry Canyon Recreation Area even if I don’t plan on swimming in the pool?
Yes. Anyone entering the Strawberry Canyon Recreation Area must purchase a day pass.

A day pass is an entry pass required of all non-members visiting Strawberry Canyon Pool, regardless of whether they plan to swim. It provides general access to the space during open rec swim hours on the date of purchase.
How do I purchase multiple day passes?
To purchase more than one day pass,
1. Add the first day pass to the shopping cart.
2. On the shopping cart page, select the “Continue Shopping” button to add more day passes.
3. Verify the number of day passes in the cart and select the “Checkout” button to complete the checkout process.
All members of a group must be present at the time of entry to present the purchase receipt (printed receipt or electronic device) and photo identification of the purchaser.
May I use my SCRA Day Pass more than once on the date of purchase?
Yes. The Strawberry Canyon Pool Day Pass is valid for the entire day of purchase. If you plan on leaving and returning to the facility, you may be asked to present your online receipt and ID upon your return.
If I have a Recreation & Wellbeing membership, do I also have to purchase a day pass for SCRA?
No. All current RecWell members have unlimited access to all Recreation & Wellbeing facilities during scheduled lap swim time and do not need to purchase a day pass for Strawberry Canyon Pool. Members must present their Cal 1 Card upon entry. Staff will verify your active RecWell membership.
Can the Strawberry Canyon Pool Day Pass be used at the Golden Bear Pool or Spieker Pool?
No. The Strawberry Canyon Pool Day Pass is only valid at Strawberry Canyon Pool on the date of purchase.
