Virtual Weight Room Line FAQs

The RecWell team is excited to launch a new feature for our members and patrons starting October 28, 2024 – a virtual line for the weight room. The technology is algorithm based and will allow our patrons the ability to use their mobile device or a computer to get a spot in the line for the weight rooms.

Why do I need to sign for a place in line?

We are implementing a new system so that you do not need to wait in a physical line when the weight rooms are at capacity. Now you can use other offerings in the RSF until it is your turn.

When do I need to use the virtual line?

The line will currently begin in place Monday - Friday from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM. We anticipate in the future it will be in use anytime the crowd meter is at 95% capacity or higher. Stay tuned for updates.

Why is the wait time inaccurate?

The system is algorithm-based and continues to adjust to customer use patterns. We hope it will accurately reflect the wait time in the future, if it is not currently. We recommend that you do not join the virtual line until you are within at least 10 minutes of the RSF.

How long do I have once I am summoned to claim my spot? Is there a restriction on the amount of time to use the weight rroom?

You are given a 10 minute window to arrive at the entrance to the weight room once summoned. You can spend as long as you want in the weight room once admitted.

Can my friend join me in the weight room?

Everyone must join the virtual line and be admitted individually.

What if I need to leave the weight room to use the restroom or go to my locker?

Tell the staff at the entrance to the weight room and they will let you back in.

If I have an international phone number, how do I sign up for the virtual line?

Sign up on a computer kiosk, or use the phone number (510) 643-8038 as a place holder. Monitor the screen at the weight room entrance for updates. Unfortunately, international numbers cannot receive text alerts from the software in place.
